My journey in the architectural industry began in 2007 as a student at Bob Mould Architects, where I not only gained invaluable insights into the construction sector but also worked diligently to fund my education. After obtaining my National Diploma in 2011, I spent a year gaining practical experience before enrolling in the Bachelor of Technology program at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2013. My professional journey continued from 2014 to 2022, during which I held the position of Senior Architectural Technologist at both Bob Mould Architects and Una Stuurmann Architects. This period was instrumental in my academic progression, culminating in the successful completion of both a Bachelor of Architecture Honours degree and a Master of Architecture degree at the Namibia University of Science and Technology. Throughout my career, I have amassed extensive experience across diverse design projects, including low-cost and high-end housing, urban design, healthcare facilities, forensic science laboratories, veterinary school labs, government headquarters, and various safety and security initiatives. My architectural interests are particularly focused on the urban spatial complexities faced by many countries in the Global South, including Namibia. A significant milestone in my career occurred in 2024 when, while working with Una Stuurmann Architects, our team was honored with an Award of Excellence from the Namibia Institute of Architects for the #Befree Youth Campus. This recognition underscores the importance of participatory planning and community engagement in creating architecture that truly addresses the needs of our communities, a cause I am proud to have contributed to.
